The theme for the 2021 Annual Conference is:
“Cuba and Venezuela: One Hope, Two Realities.”
Dear ASCE members and true friends,
It will come as no surprise to you that due to the health crisis we are all experiencing ASCE decided to cancel its August 13-15, 2020 Conference. However, stay tuned, as we are planning to do a virtual event around those dates — not a full virtual conference (who has the patience to sit for hours on the computer) but an interesting event that, as one of our best members likes to call it, will be “beyond the webinar.” That is, we will “see” you around those dates and bring something of ASCE value for you to be stimulated by and enjoy.
We do still plan to do a real conference at FIU, same as before, but this time it will be in January 4-6, 2021 — just as the new year opens up. SAVE the dates and come to be with us at a great time in Miami at a great university, Florida International University (FIU).
This January 2021 conference will, of course, also depend on the situation with the coronavirus in the Fall but we remain optimistic that by then it will be possible to hold such events (thanks to a new vaccine or reliable testing).
So, don’t forget ASCE. SAVE the DATES and give us your support. We are still here and still planning to do our best, while adjusting in myriad ways to the new circumstances (as they used to say in Cuba, a la cañona).
“See” you soon — Silvia
